Osun Assembly Committees set priority for sports

The standing committee on Youth, Sports and Special Needs, alongside the Public Works and Transport in the State of Osun House of Assembly have resolved to giving sporting activities in the State a great priority as a means of discovering potentials in youths.
The duo chairmen, Hon(Engr) Badamasi Olatunde Taofeek and Hon. Adirulahi Adegbile stated this during an oversight functions to the Osogbo Township stadium and the ongoing road construction works at Alekuwodo axis.
The Acting General Manager, Mr Rotimi Dumoye accompanied by other administrative staff took the members around the stadium facilities and he lamented greatly on the situation of the Osogbo township Stadium.
Hon. Adegbile responded by assuring him that the house committee will look into all the lapses in the City Stadium by giving it a befitting look as soon as the State is buoyant enough.
The committee members later proceeded to Alekuwodo area, lead by the chairman, House Committee on Public Works and Transport, Hon(Engr) Badamasi Olatunde Taofeek to see the level of work done so far.
The project Coordinator of Peculiar Construction Compay, Mr Lukman Hassan welcomed the committee members to the construction site. He took them round the work site and he gave them a comprehensive details about the nearly completed Alekuwodo road. He acknowledged that similar road projects are ongoing in some parts of the state.
Hon(Engr) Badamasi Olatunde Taofeek ascertained the thickness of the asphalt laid on the road. In his remarks commended the Governor of the State of Osun Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola for the ongoing laudable projects in his Constituency and the State at large. He also urged the residents to cultivate a good act of maintenance on the facilities provided by Government and promised to see to the developmental projects for the benefit of the society.
