COURT STRIKES OUT CASE AGAINST SAHEED AKINLOYE
Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara of the Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo has today Wednesday struck out a case against a social media commentator, Mr. Saheed Akinloye for lack of merit.
Akinloye was dragged to court for publicly, precisely oh his Facebook timeline, castigating Osun State government, allegedly insinuating that the APC-led administration was lying about the issue of Coronavirus pandemic and it’s spread in Osun State.
He was thereafter invited by the Police for questioning after which he was arraigned before Justice Olusegun Ayilara who initially declined the defendant’s application for bail and ordered his remand in ilesa Correctional Facility but to no avail because of the lockdown order put in place by the state government.
Also, some important dignitaries and citizens of Osun State, including Governor Gboyega Oyetola were said to later intervene and Akinloye was granted bail and eventually released.
At the mention of the case today before Justice Ayilara of the Magistrate Court, the case was dismissed for lacking in merit.
