DIGITAL BROADCASTING DEBUTS IN OSUN
Monday, June 1 2020 remains a remarkable day in the broadcast industry as Osun Digital Radio, an online broadcast media, designed to bring about innovation and restructuring into mass communication, beamed actions, programming and live streaming in the airwaves, in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
Osun Digital Radio which is more of audio and visual broadcast, majorly to the elites in the Nigeran society, is using the internet for digital consumption of ideas, informations, education and entertainment programmes.
Speaking with Nigerian Platform in its office, along Gbongan/Ibadan road in Osogbo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/ Managing Director of the organization, Mr.Oyekan-Nash Oluwaseun emphasized that the adventure is to showcase the broadcast media in another dimension, “connecting people in and out of Osun State and Nigeria to bring about a standard to the ways broadcast is being done” in this part of the world.
Oluwaseun, a certified digital media communication expert described the initiative as a welcome development in all ramifications.
Expressing his optimism about the survival of the broadcast outfit in the competitive media world, Oluwaseun who explained that the digital radio, in content, shall cover culture, lifestyle, ideological beliefs, reorientation, enterprenurship rendezvous, security, sports, to mention but a few, maintained that the firm shall surely thrive as soon as possible.
Also speaking, the Group Managing Director of Osun Digital Radio, Aremo Oyelade Oloyede Kazeem, while explaining the rationale behind the initiative, said “the whole world is now going digital and we don’t want Osun to be disadvantaged”.
Aremo Oyelade said the staffers of the organization cuts across the length and breadth of Osun State and that the medium is more of more programmes rather than news alone.
Osun Digital Radio has, in the space of one-month test transmission, has garnered over two thousand (2000) people who have visited the online presence.
Feelers are of the opinion that Osun Digital Radio is going to be an enjoyable experience, especially for the societal elites.
A certified broadcaster, based in Osun State, Mr. Olaide Olaife declared the events open at noon.
