IFE NORTH CARETAKER CHAIRMAN, HON. ADEYEEBA LAUDS OSUN GOVERNOR AS GRADES ROAD IN YAKOOYO
The Caretaker Chairman of Ife North Local Government, Hon. Ayoola Adeyeeba has applauded the Governor of Osun State for his incomparable performance and being a good manager despite the state’s meagre resources.
This was contained in a statement by the Council’s HOD, Social Development And Information Department, Mrs Bisi Silas and made available to newsmen in Yakooyo on Thursday, after the reconstruction of Oke-Osin road of the town by the Caretaker Chairman.
Hon. Adeyeeba said he was committed to fulfilling all campaign promises made by the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, which included rapid infrastructural development and others.
According to him, “many people have been asking me why I am paying special attention on grading of roads in rural areas. It is because we have graded some roads in AkinIaalu, Asipa, and some parts in Ipetumodu, believing that opening up of rural areas will make it easier for farmers to transport their agricultural products to the towns at cheaper costs”.
“A situation where rural farmers pay high cost of transportation because of bad roads leading to the urban centres or cities to sell their products discourage many people to engage in farming.
“Grading of rural roads will also help give people living in the areas, a sense of belonging, so that they will not think that the Government has abandoned them,” he said.
He added that he will ensure the needful is done within his domain to domesticate good work of Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration at the local level.
The chairman further said the grading of the road was an effort in collaboration with the Council Manager, Egnr. Adeyeye Jacob and Egnr. Fakeye Olaniyi who is the HOD works in the Local Government.
The residents of the area said they were very happy about the road because it has been impassable for many years as erosion has washed off all soil on the road. They said they are happy with the reconstruction which they regarded as a best form of dividend of democracy.
The Council Manager also said the condition of the road in the past years had almost cut off the community from other communities in the area. He now commended the performing Governor and the Caretaker Chairman for the wonderful work as he begged the people in the community to please vote Governor Oyetola for the second term because of his good work.
Hon Adeyeeba, flanked by his Vice, Hon. Ibraheem Olayiwola has earlier urged the people in the community to re-elect Governor Oyetola so that the good work will continue.
