Executive Order: Osun Education Ministry allegedly frustrating Governor Adeleke’s efforts

EXECUTIVE ORDER: OSUN EDUCATION MINISTRY ALLEGEDLY FRUSTRATING GOVERNOR ADELEKE’S EFFORTS

The Osun State Ministry of Education has been alleged of frustrating the Executive Order given to the Chief Executive Officers of the state Higher Institutions.

The Ministry was alleged to have compromised the Order by not issuing a circular directing the Rectors of the two polytechnics in the state who were allegedly appointed by fiat by the former governor some 28 days to the inauguration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo was said to have been appointed by handpicking as a result of his unrepentant loyalty to Alhaji Oyetola without following the due process.

Similarly, Engr. Samson Adegoke, the College of Technology, Esa-Oke Rector was also said to have been re-appointed in August, 2022 to continue after his five years tenure without following the extant order of the Polytechnic.

It would be recalled that the Governor gave an executive order at his inauguration and reiterated it on Thursday, that all appointments made after July 17 have been reversed, but the two Rectors; Odetayo who was appointed 28 days to the Governor’s inauguration and Adegoke who was appointed in August have continued their administrative functions in their respective offices.

It was gathered that the state Ministry of Education has failed to communicate the implementation of the Order to the Institutions.

Meanwhile, a source in the office of the Secretary to the State Government disclosed that “despite the fact that the SSG has directed the Ministry of Education to carry out the implementation, top officers of the Ministry who are loyal to the former Governor Oyetola are still there. They refuse to implement the Order. We shall investigate them”, he said.
