ADELEKE GOVERNMENT RESTATES COMMITMENT TO PARTNER WITH NIGERIAN MACHINE TOOLS LIMITED ON INDUSTRIAL, AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF OSUN STATE









In his relentless efforts to turn around the economic standing of Osun State to be more viable, robust and globally acceptable, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has restated his readiness to identify, harness and support industries within the State.
Nigeria Machine Tools Limited, a world-class engineering services and equipment manufacturing organization has been described as an important stakeholder in this revolution.
The State Governor further disclosed his readiness to partner with Nigerian Machine Tools Limited ( NMTL) for industrial and agricultural development in all the aspects of the Osun economy.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo during a working visit to Nigeria Machine Tools Limited, Osogbo on Tuesday.
Rev. Jenyo stated that the aim of the present administration is to industrialize Osun and improve the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the State.
Nigeria Machine Tools Limited offers a range of activities, which include engineering services, component manufacturing (Reverse Engineering), Foundry, Fabrication of Metal works and supply of Agro-Allied implements such as Tractors and other equipment like Harrow, Plough and Ridger).
The company employed over 75% of Osun indigenes in its workforce presently.
According to the Commissioner, Osun State is collaborating with the NMTL to provide tractors for farmers, Cooperative Groups, Local Government Areas, as well as acquisition of industrial skills to the citizens of Osun State.
The visitation was extended to various sections of the company, among which were agricultural equipment fabrication unit, Tractor assembly plants, bolts and promotion unit, industrial training skills acquistiion centre, cashew processing factory, among others.
The Commissioner also discussed how to collaborate and actualize the government’s vision to boost agricultural activities in the state, hence, increase food production.
The management of NMTL was well-represented and led by the Head, Sales and Marketing, Mr. Olufemi Osoko while the Commissioner was accompanied by the management team of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Kehinde Odediran.
