OSUN HAS MADE MEANINGFUL PROGRESS ON INDUSTRIALISATION, SAYS GOVERNOR ADELEKE AS HE UNVEILED INVESTMENT ROUNDTABLE 2025

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has emphasized that the State has made meaningful progress in the industrialisation agenda of his administration.

The Governor stated this while unveiling the State Dinner and Industrial Investment Roundtable, held at the Local Government Service Commission Multipurpose Hall, Abere on Friday, 1st August, 2025.

Governor Adeleke said his administration has built a strong foundation, attracted key investment and gained valuable insights from stakeholders across various sectors. “This roundtable serves as a strategic platform to consolidate those gains, explore new possibilities and define a clear roadmap towards industrialisation”

According to Governor Adeleke who was represented by the lead Consultant to the State Government on Climate Change and Renewable Energy, Prof. Chinwe Obuaku-Igwe, “our administration’s mission is to position Osun as the preferred destination for investment in Nigeria”.

“Our State is blessed with rich natural and agricultural resources spread across our local government areas. Over the past two years, the State Government has delivered transformative infrastructure and driven initiatives such as the revitalisation of the Free Trade Zone which is projected to create over 1,000,000 direct and indirect jobs, establishment of modern markets, development of agricultural value chains and well-designed policies on industrial development, digital transformation and youth empowerment”, the Governor said.

“These efforts are building a vibrant, resilient and productive economy through public-private partnerships”.

“Our aim is shared prosperity, powered by inclusive growth, sustainable development and innovation. Osun is proudly showing that this vision is not only possible but already underway. The plan is clear: to develop a dynamic industrial ecosystem that creates employment, stimulates creativity and broadens our economy beyond civil service dependence. We know that Osun’s future depends on how well we manage our resources, invest in our people and apply technology to grow our local industries”.

In pursuit of this goal, we remain committed to: Creating a supportive environment for industrial growth by improving infrastructure, simplifying regulations and offering support to entrepreneurs and investors; attracting both local and foreign investments into strategic sectors such as agro-processing, manufacturing, textiles and renewable energy; promoting public-private partnerships that encourage innovation, skill acquisition and technology transfer; and empowering nano, micro, small and medium enterprises to thrive and grow, so that economic progress is shared by all”.

The Governor also stated “let us not forget that industrialisation is not limited to infrastructure or investment but about changing the way our people think, fostering a spirit of enterprise and building strong industries that can adapt to global realities. Working together, we can and will move Osun State from a civil service economy to an industrial force known for innovation, productivity and sustainable progress”.

“As I conclude this address, I acknowledge and appreciate the tireless efforts of all those working to bring positive change to Osun. To the glory of GOD and the benefit of Osun State and her people, I proudly unveil the Osun State Dinner and Industrial Investment Roundtable”, the Governor concluded.
