D.I.I.R 2025: OSUN IS READY FOR INDUSTRIALISATION, LIFE-CHANGING PARTNERSHIPS – GOVERNOR. ADELEKE

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Sen. Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has reassured the public that his administration is set for business, partnerships, commercial development and industrial revolution, that will transform lives.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi at Oasis Event Centre Osogbo, venue of the Dinner and Industrial Investment Roundtable (D.I.I.R) made the disclosure on Tuesday, 7th October 2025.

The Roundtable event was to consolidate on the successes recorded at the Osun State Industrial Investment Summit, held between 10th and 14th September 2024.

Over fifty (50) investors, both locally and in the diaspora attended the roundtable with lots of take-home to the citizens of Osun State.

Africa Asia Scholars Global Network, United Kingdom brought 2,500 scholarships to study in India, 75% MBA Fee Reduction for Osun citizens in Europe, $5 million dollars scholarships in Canada and Osun Community Skills Enterprise (OSCE) to be established in earnest.

Governor Adeleke, while speaking, said, “today is not just another date on our calendar. It is a bold statement of intent to the nation, to Africa, and to the world that we are ready for business, ready for industrial and commercial development and also ready for partnerships that will change lives”.

“Across Nigeria and the continent, the demand for sustainable industrial growth has never been greater. Our State has made significant strides following the 2024 Industrial Investment Summit. We have laid a solid foundation, attracted strategic investments, and garnered invaluable insights from stakeholders across sectors”.

“This roundtable is a vital platform to consolidate those gains, identify new pathways, and chart a clear course toward industrialisation”.

“It is about charting a new course where Osun adds value, creates jobs, and attracts industries that endure. We are here to connect vision with opportunity, policy with investment, and local talent with global capital”.

“Osun is blessed, not only with resources, but with resilience, culture, and people who are eager to work. There are opportunities and potentials in the following areas; Agriculture & Agro-Processing: From Cocoa and Cassava to maize and vegetables, our farmers are the backbone of our economy. The future lies in processing, turning cocoa to chocolate, cassava to starch, and maize to feed and flour right here in Osun”.

In his welcome address, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo said the Roundtable was to shape the future of industrial development in Osun State.

According to him, “this event is a direct result of the successes we achieved at last year’s Industrial Investment Summit. The summit attracted significant attention and investment interest into our state. We showcased Osun State’s potential and opportunities and I am delighted to say that we have seen positive feedback and results since then”.

“This Roundtable is the result of the bold vision and leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Sen. Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke whose commitment to repositioning Osun as a centre of commercial, industrial and economic activities in Southwest Nigeria continues to inspire us all”.

“This Roundtable is therefore a decisive step to ensure that Osun becomes not just a supplier of raw materials, but a hub for value addition, manufacturing, and global competitiveness”.

“Some of the key initiatives the Government has embarked on include: Revitalisation of the Living Spring Free Trade Zone: This project is expected to provide over 1, 0000,000 direct and indirect jobs for our people. As a fall out of the Industrial Investment summit, several investors have indicated interest to establish industries in the zone and the Governor has already approved the allocation of industrial plots to the investors. Work is ongoing on their Memorandum of Understanding after which the projects are expected to take off”.

“The Osun State Government is fully committed to an enabling environment for investment. We are hopeful this roundtable will further open up the industrial and business landscape of Osun and many investments will spring up in the State with multiplier effects”.

“Osun State is Open Beyond Borders for Investments from Osun indigenes, Nigerians, Africans and all persons in the Diaspora. Osun State, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, stands ready to work hand-in-hand with investors, local entrepreneurs, and development partners to turn this vision into reality”.

In her remarks, the mother of the State, Chief Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni lauded the initiative, describing it as a welcome development and at the right time.

Yeye Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni who applauded Dr. Jenyo for his resilience and relentless steps towards Osun’s Industrialisation also encouraged other cabinet members to add values to the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

She urged them to think out of the box to support the monumental achievements of the Governor in their different sectors of the economy and governance.

Wife of the Governor, Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke who called on investors across the globe to invest in Osun, said the Roundtable event was organized to raise the economy, promote industrialisation, youth empowerment and social development.

According to her, “today’s roundtable provides a vital platform for dialogue, collaboration and partnership between the government and the private sector. A partnership essential for industrial development, economic advancement, job creation and inclusive prosperity. Let us reaffirm our shared commitment to building an Osun State that thrives on innovation, enterprise and sustainable development”.

Investors in attendance include Mr Abdul Dewale Mohammed, from Africa Asia Scholars Global Network, UK, the Consul General of Brazil, represented by Mr. Olatunji Turner, the Executive Director (Administration), Oodua Infraco, Mr. Gbenga Akanni, HRH Princess Nosipho Mthembu, President Africa Renaissance for Development, South Africa, Mr.Serguei Quattara, President and Executive Manager, EU Africa Chamber of Commerce, Brussels Belgium and Emil Nabo Ekiyor, CEO Innopower LLC, USA.
