OSUN MOVES TO DEEPEN CHINA-NIGERIA INDUSTRIAL COOPERATION FOR MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE IN COMMERCE, INDUSTRY

The Osun State government under the leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has moved to deepen the State’s chances in the China-Nigeria cooperation for a more sustainable future in the Commerce and Industry sector.

The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo stated this in his goodwill address at the Opening Ceremony of United Asia Exhibition Company at the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos on Tuesday.

According to the Commissioner, the People’s Republic of China, our country Nigeria and indeed Osun State must strengthen bonds that benefit both economies.

As the theme, ‘Deepening China-Nigeria cooperation: Building a sustainable Supply Chain’ Rev. Dr. Jenyo’s affirmed that “China’s impressive industrial journey and Nigeria’s growing potential make our partnership exceptionally promising”.

According to him, “as we gather at this auspicious platform, we celebrate not only the spirit of enterprise but the unwavering commitment to economic progress, cooperation, and innovation that threads together nations and industries across continents”.

“This event brings together an impressive array of policymakers, global stakeholders, investors, and visionary leaders united by a singular purpose: to chart new frontiers for trade, investment, and sustainable development”.

“As the world evolves in complexity and interconnection, forums like this Trade Fair become critical engines for catalyzing new partnerships, advancing technology, and fostering a spirit of mutual prosperity. The presence of delegations from China, including business leaders, policy experts, and investment promoters, presents an invaluable opportunity for cross-border engagement and shared growth”.

“Nigeria has a great future and great potentials to turn into a modern and industrialised country. The South West region, especially must make all efforts to tap into the vast opportunities that exists in different sectors such as Tourism, ICT, Agriculture, Automobile Production and Assembling, Technology, Industrial Machinery, Chemicals, Agro-Processing, Mining, Textile and Leather, among others”.

“We have a large productive population and market for movement of goods and services in the South West region. I am particularly excited about the diversity of exhibitions represented here today, from the Textile Industry to automotive parts and equipment, to homeware and gifts, to cutting-edge energy storage solutions to mention a few”.
