National Protest: Osun Reformation tasks Youths to remain focused

NATIONAL PROTEST: OSUN REFORMATION TASKS YOUTHS TO REMAIN FOCUSED

Consequent upon the harsh economic realities on Nigerians due to removal of fuel subsidy removal and some policies of the Federal government, a socio-political group, Osun Reformation has tasked the Nigerian Youths to remain focused and toe the path of peace in the forthcoming peaceful protest in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement issued by the coordinator of the organization, Mr. Bamidele Adeniyi (Zangaruwa) and obtained in Osogbo, Osun State Capital on Sunday.

The citizens of Nigeria have been plunged into severe economic hardship ranging from inflation, naira devaluation, skyrocketing prices of goods and services, high cost of transportation, among others in every nook and cranny of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The statement therefore charged the youths, who are the most participants in the protest to be law abiding, focused and steadfast in the protest. It also charged them to display a high level of maturity and patriotism to disallow hoodlums from hijacking the peaceful rally for their selfish agenda.

It was also noted, that the severe economic hardship is not pertaining to the youths alone as it affects all sectors of the economy and the entire citizenry is feeling the heat.

The statement also called on the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately swing into reasonable actions that are capable of easing the burden of Nigerians.

“President Tinubu”, according to the statement, “must rise to the occasion, leaving no stone unturned to rescue the sinking ship of Nigeria, at this precious time, before things get out of hands”, the statement noted.

Most worrisome to the Osun Reformation is the unbearable increase in tuition fees for students, who are believed to be future leaders. If there’s difficulty in affordable schooling, then the country called Nigeria is doomed, taking into cognizance, impending failure of a people blessed with great human resources.

“In view of the forgoing, the time is now ripe for education reform which will be all-encompassing, to be put in place by President Tinubu and tuition fees for students across the country must be brought down”, the statement positioned.

“The unspeakable hike in food prices across the country must be critically looked into by the President, his mantra “renewed hope” must be put to work immediately, to assure the Youths and all in Nigeria, that it is not over, the time is now”, it also read in part.

According to the statement by the Osun Reformation, all hands must be on deck at this challenging period of Nigeria’s economic life, to reject inhuman treatment for masses in every sense of the word.

It therefore called all members of Osun Reformation, Non-governmental Organizations and all the Civil Society Organizations, across the country, to come out in large numbers for the peaceful protest against anti-people policies, that are increasing the pains of the masses, day after day.
