COURT REAFFIRMS OMOAJE AS ACTION ALLIANCE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday reaffirmed Dr Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the authentic National chairman of the Action Alliance (AA).
Recalled that the same court had earlier ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Omoaje as the national chairman of the AA and give recognition to all the names of candidates he submitted for various elective positions in the 2023 general elections.
The court also ordered INEC to paste the names of the candidates submitted by Omoaje in all its offices and also post the names on its website.
Not comfortable with the court rulings, an expelled member of the party, Mr Kenneth Udeze approached the Federal High Court, Abuja to upturn the rulings.
But the court held that Udeze, having been expelled from the party lacks the right to institute any suit against the party or its leaders.
In her ruling, Justice Zanab Abubakar upheld the rulings of the Federal High Courts sitting in Abuja and Abeokuta which gave recognition to Omoaje as the national chairman of the party.
The court also held that it lacks the power to upturn the ruling of the Appeal Court which had upheld the expulsion of Udeze from the party, a decision yet to be challenged by him (Udeze).
Citing various authorities, Justice Abubakar declared that Udeze is not a member of the Action Alliance and therefore has no moral or legal justification to challenge whatever is done in the party.
She further directed the INEC to recognize Omoaje as the national chairman of the party and as well recognize all candidates submitted by him by publishing their names on the INEC website and pasting same in all their offices.
Reacting to the court ruling, the national chairman of the party, Dr Adekunle Rufai Omoaje hailed the judgment and urged INEC to obey court orders.
He enjoined INEC to respect the rule of law and prevent any action capable of jeopardizing the 2023 general elections.
“INEC PLANS TO JEOPARDIZE 2023 POLLS”, ACTION ALLIANCE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN ALLEGES
National chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Dr Adekunle Rufai Omoaje has taken a swipe at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over what he described as the commission’s flagrant disobedience to court judgment, saying that the commission was bent at jeopardizing the 2023 general election through its actions.
Omoaje while featuring on a live television programme chastised the electoral body for disobeying many court rulings that ordered it to recognize the candidates he (Omoaje) presented for various political positions in the 2023 general elections.
He cited the judgment of a Federal High Court, Abuja and those of the Ogun State High Court sitting in Abeokuta and the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal which all ordered INEC to publish the names of candidates submitted by him on its website and also paste same in all its offices.
Omoaje lamented that the action of INEC was capable of jeopardizing the forthcoming general elections, stressing that the election may not hold should INEC fails to respect the court orders.
The AA National chairman said INEC has not given any reason why it fails to obey all the judgment delivered in his favour by the courts, despite being represented in the courts that delivered the judgment and adequately served the court judgment.
He said the ongoing political campaigns by the presidential candidates of various political parties and others contesting other positions in the 2023 general elections may be an exercise in futility as the party would challenge the conduct of the election.
Omoaje informed that there was no faction in the party as Mr Kenneth Udeze who claimed to be a factional national chairman of the party had long been suspended and subsequently expelled from the party.
He declared that the Action Alliance is one under his leadership and various court judgment also affirmed his position with INEC fully aware of the development.
He said INEC was well represented at the meetings where Udeze was suspended and expelled, adding that INEC should respect court judgment for it to earn the respect of the masses ahead of the next year’s general elections.
ACTION Alliance DENIES MERGER WITH TINUBU/SHETIMA CAMPAIGN COUNCIL
The leadership of the Action Alliance (AA) has dispelled the purported merger of the party with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a bid to support the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
National chairman of the party, Dr Adekunle Rufai Omoaje in a statement issued on Friday denied any link between the party and APC, saying the party would not work for any other candidate or political party.
Some fraudulent people in the North West zone had in a statement signed by one Hajiya Amina Kilishi Lamido who claimed to be Zonal Coordinator of the Major Hamzat Almustafa (rtd) Presidential Council in the North West Zone claimed that the AA campaign committee and the leaders and members of the party had merged with the presidential campaign team of Tinubu.
But the National Chairman of the AA, Hon Omoaje who described the development as mere rumour, insisted that such arrangement only exist in the minds of those peddling the rumour.
Omoaje noted that all the claims of the peddlers of the rumour are mere figments of their own imagination as the AA remains one.
He gave the names of the party leaders from the North West zone to include Suleiman Abdulrasheed (National Secretary Kaduna State), Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar (National Vice Chairman North West jigawa state), Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi “Deputy National women leader ( Niger state), Alhaji Sani Darma (Kano state Leader).
Others are the State Chairmen from North West zone including Hon. Magaji Marafa (Kaduna State), Saminu yaro (Kastina state ), Aliyu inusa Danbago (Kano State ), Alh. Ismaila Dutse (Jigawa state ), Shuaiba Altine (Sokoto State), Tukur Musa yaro (Kebbi state) and Hon. Sani idirs (Zanfara State).

He said those contesting under the platform of the party through his leadership are the only authentic contestants of the party.
The Osun State Ministry of Education has been alleged of frustrating the Executive Order given to the Chief Executive Officers of the state Higher Institutions.
The Ministry was alleged to have compromised the Order by not issuing a circular directing the Rectors of the two polytechnics in the state who were allegedly appointed by fiat by the former governor some 28 days to the inauguration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo was said to have been appointed by handpicking as a result of his unrepentant loyalty to Alhaji Oyetola without following the due process.
Similarly, Engr. Samson Adegoke, the College of Technology, Esa-Oke Rector was also said to have been re-appointed in August, 2022 to continue after his five years tenure without following the extant order of the Polytechnic.
It would be recalled that the Governor gave an executive order at his inauguration and reiterated it on Thursday, that all appointments made after July 17 have been reversed, but the two Rectors; Odetayo who was appointed 28 days to the Governor’s inauguration and Adegoke who was appointed in August have continued their administrative functions in their respective offices.
It was gathered that the state Ministry of Education has failed to communicate the implementation of the Order to the Institutions.
Meanwhile, a source in the office of the Secretary to the State Government disclosed that “despite the fact that the SSG has directed the Ministry of Education to carry out the implementation, top officers of the Ministry who are loyal to the former Governor Oyetola are still there. They refuse to implement the Order. We shall investigate them”, he said.
IKIRUN: KINGMAKERS, TRADITIONAL CHIEFS RALLY SUPPORT FOR OBA AKADIRI
The Akirun-in- council, made up of High Chiefs of Ikirun and the kingmakers have expressed their support for the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Yunus Olalekan Akadiri, saying they are solidly behind him.
The chiefs recalled that the process that led to the selection, appointment and subsequent installation of Oba Akadiri was in line with the culture and tradition of the town.
They therefore warned disgruntled elements to steer clear of the town, stressing that they could not watch the town being thrown into crisis and violence.
The Kingmakers including High Chief Rasheed Diekola (Odofin of Ikirun), High Chief Atoyebi Oluwole Moses (Ojomu of Ikirun), High Chief Bamidele Onifade (Elemo of Ikirun), High Chief Okunlola Raheem (Jagun of Ikirun), High Chief Suleiman Olaore (Oluawo of Ikirun) and High Chief Azeez Muritala Ojeniyi (Obaale of Ikirun) in a statement issued and signed by them warned against any policy that could lead to anachy in the town.
Besides, they called on the Osun State government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke to tow the path of peace and ensure that peace reigns in Ikirun.
Tje statement reads “It is important that we set the record straight from the onset. In doing this, we want to recall vividly that the stool of the Akirun of Ikirun became vacant on the 3rd of February, 2021 following the demise of our late father, Oba Rauf Olawale Adedeji who hailed from the Adedeji ruling house.
“It’s on record that there are three ruling houses in Ikirun and the government gazette and chieftaincy declarations recognize this fact. The ruling houses are: Oba-Ara, Adedeji and Gboleru, and the ascension order is also in the same order.
“However, the Osun State High Court presided over by Justice Jide Falola had in it’s ruling held that the next Akirun of Ikirun after Oba Adedeji be produced by the Oba-Ara ruling house, a situation which made many Princes from the ruling house to show interest. The court premised its decision on the inability of Gboleru ruling house, whose turn it was to produce the next Akirun of Ikirun to produce a unanimous candidate for the stool. As a result of this, Justice Falola ordered the next ruling house which was Oba-Ara to produce the next traditional ruler.
“It is pertinent to state that the inability of the Gboleru ruling house to present a prince for the position of Akirun was as a result of internal wranglings within the family.
“As a result of the court ruling, it then became the turn of the Oba-Ara ruling house to produce the next Akirun of Ikirun. Following this development, 21 Princes from the family (Oba-Ara) showed interest in the race, and this made the kingmakers to resolve to voting. An election was held by seven kingmakers including the Eesa of Ikirun, High Chief Kareem Adetoyese who was the first to vote.
“The election was held at the premises of Ifelodun Local Government secretariat under the supervision of notable persons including the chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Chief Imam of Ikirun, Alhaji Balogun Yunus, chairman, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon Okanlawon among others.
“It’s on record that the Eesa of Ikirun land, High Chief Lawal Adetoyese Kareem was the first person to vote during the election. The Eesa had in a letter dated 19th November, 2021 and addressed to the chairman, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon Okanlawon invited council officials to the election and specifically requested for recording device, a request that was granted by the authorities of the local government.
“After the said election, Prince Ismaeel Olasunkanmi Adeyemi had one vote, while the Akirun of Ikirun, Oba Yunus Olalekan Akadiri had six votes. Thereafter, the name of the winner of the election was forwarded to the authorities of the state government and Ifelodun Local Government. This was done through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
“Thereafter, all the contestants embraced themselves and signed a peace pact to maintain law and order.
“The current Akirun of Ikirun, Oba Olalekan Akadiri was therefore selected by the kingmakers on 19th November, 2021. It’s on record that the process that produced Oba Akadiri was clean, transparent, orderly, lawful and in line with the principle of due process.
“Contrary to the rumours making the round in some quarters that the former Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola imposed Oba Akadiri on the people of Ikirun, it is note worthy to reiterate unequivocally that Oba Akadiri’s emergence to the throne of his fore-father’s followed due process, laid down tradition and culture of Ikirun. Oba Akadiri did not at anytime or at anywhere influence his selection and subsequent appointment, rather another contestant, Prince Ismail Olasunkanmi Adeyemi was alleged to have made efforts to influence his ambition through his relationship with the Governor. However, Prince Adeyemi could not have headway because of the overwhelming love, support and affection that Oba Akadiri enjoyed from the kingmakers and many individuals in the town.
“Permit us to inform the public through this medium that the new Akirun of Ikirun had undergone all the necessary traditional rites of installation and he had been presented with the Staff of Office and certificate of appointment, a development which authenticate his selection and appointment as the Akirun of Ikirun.
“On this note, we hereby call on the new Governor, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke to ensure that he stands by the side of the truth and Justice, even as we call on security agencies not to compromise. We call on all warring groups to sheath their swords and allow peace and serenity prevail as we cannot watch while our town is being plunged into crisis,” they added.

OPEN LETTER OF APPRECIATION AND A CALL TO THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE, SEN. ADEMOLA NURUDEEN JACKSON ADELEKE OVER THE DECEPTIVE SCHEME SOME ELEMENTS TO UPHOLD THE UNLAWFUL INSTALLATION OF PRINCE RAPHAEL OLUPONLE ADEMOLA AS THE AREE OF IREE.
We the ruling house of Oba Olubonku of Iree, Boripe North Local Council Development Authority, (LCDA) Osun state wishes to express our sincere gratitude to the Osun state Governor, Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for his swift intervention, following the Executive Order No.5 over the unlawful installation of Prince Raphael Oluponle Ademola as the Aree of Iree land.
The Olubonku ruling house and the entire Iree indigenes home and abroad appreciate the move by the Governor to uphold peace and tranquility that Iree has been enjoying before the recent acclaimed APC Oba installation film.
The Olubonku ruling house of Iree also wish to affirm that the installation of Prince Raphael Oluponle Ademola was unlawful, did not follow due process and was doctored by some elements, based on the following facts:
The Afobajes was not allowed to produce new Oba for the ancient town (Iree) . • After court judgment which said that the Kingmakers or Afobajes should work on four ruling houses to produce the next Aree of Iree. • The Iree Progressive Association and the Iree Elders Council (the apex bodies controlling the Affairs of the town) are opposed to the selection of Prince Raphael Oluponle Ademola as Aree of Iree . This was evident in the press release from Asiwaju of Iree land, Pa Engr. Adenrele Afolabi on Rave FM 91.7, debunking the selection of the said Prince.
With the unlawful and deceitful installation of the Prince Raphael Oluponle Ademola as Aree of Iree land and that of other Chieftaincy in some towns of Osun state, it has become evidently clear to us that the former Government of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) led by Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and his commissioners, most especially the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters , Prince Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as Banik, aimed to cause chaos, anarchy and disrupt the peace of Osun state as a result of their defeat in the last gubernatorial election.
It is worthy of note that in Iree there are six (6) ruling houses comprised of Olubonku, Iyanhanola, Oyetite, Oyekun, Ojo Ayagaga and Larooye.
Following the death of late Aree Oba Jimoh Layoonu Olatoyan of Laro ruling house, the Olubonku ruling house has been appealing to other 5 ruling houses to allow them to enthrone to the stool of their forefathers at least for a second time before the last administration hijacked the process from Afobajes or Kingmakers and started selling their extortion and dubious nomination forms to the Princes which did not work.
Based on the principle of justice, equity and fairness, the Kingmakers or Afobajes should be allowed to do their work in accordance with our rich customs and tradition for choosing a new Oba in the town.
The Olubonku ruling house has already exonerated itself through their (Baba Baale Alhaji Prince Azeez Lawal) that they were not part of the Kangaroo installation of Prince Raphael Oluponle Ademola as the Aree of Iree and also asked their Lawyer to write a letter of solidarity to the Kingmakers or Afobajes in Iree that we are solidly behind them and which the copies have also been served to the other 5 ruling houses and a copy which is being with the Commissioner of Police, Osun state .
May Almighty God be with your Excellency, protect and guide you to steer the Affairs of Osun State to the promised land.
Long live Osun state Long live Iree Oye Itake Iba Long live Olubonku ruling house. Best Regards
