Covid-19 : Court frees social commentator

COURT STRIKES OUT CASE AGAINST SAHEED AKINLOYE

Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara of the Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo has today Wednesday struck out a case against a social media commentator, Mr. Saheed Akinloye for lack of merit.

Akinloye was dragged to court for publicly, precisely oh his Facebook timeline, castigating Osun State government, allegedly insinuating that the APC-led administration was lying about the issue of Coronavirus pandemic and it’s spread in Osun State.

He was thereafter invited by the Police for questioning after which he was arraigned before Justice Olusegun Ayilara who initially declined the defendant’s application for bail and ordered his remand in ilesa Correctional Facility but to no avail because of the lockdown order put in place by the state government.

Also, some important dignitaries and citizens of Osun State, including Governor Gboyega Oyetola were said to later intervene and Akinloye was granted bail and eventually released.

At the mention of the case today before Justice Ayilara of the Magistrate Court, the case was dismissed for lacking in merit.

*REMARKS BY THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION/CHAIRMAN OF THE PTF ON COVID-19 AT THE NATIONAL BRIEFING OF MONDAY 18TH MAY, 2020*

I welcome you to the National Briefing by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 for Monday, 18th May, 2020.

2. Today’s briefing is significant as it provides us an opportunity to assess progress made in the first phase of our three-pronged strategy and communicate Mr. President’s directive on the next step of our National Response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

3. At the commencement of our national response, we informed Nigerians that the COVID-19 pandemic is the greatest public health challenge of our generation.

4. The PTF also developed a multi-sectoral national response bearing in mind the fact that we were traversing uncharted territories and that there was no cure for the virus.

5. As at date, the President has addressed the nation three times, to underscore the seriousness of the situation. On each of those occasions, he pronounced measures aimed at containing and controlling the spread of the disease.

6. Some of these measures introduced in phases and modified as we progressed, include lockdown of specified high burden areas, travel ban, nationwide curfew, as well as advisories aimed at escalating our infection, prevention and control strategies.

7.In the national broadcast of 27th April, 2020, Mr. President announced a phased and gradual easing of the lockdown in Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Federal Capital Territory along with additional nationwide measures aimed at ensuring that our economy continued to function within the limiting constraints posed by COVID-19 pandemic.

8.While maintaining a delicate balance between safety and economic survival in a precarious situation, Mr. President focused on achieving the following:

i. Ensuring that socio-economic difficulties experienced during the total
Lockdown were alleviated without compromising safety;

II. Allowing the Healthcare sector to continue preparing the identified metrics needed to manage the response and any potential future outbreak nationwide; and

III. Increasing the sensitization of the populace and empowering communities to start driving the response through taking personal responsibility by adhering to stated guidelines.

9.Achieving the foregoing objectives was predicated on adherence to the guidelines issued by the PTF COVID-19, adaptation and cooperation by the States, ownership by communities as well businesses, professional bodies, labour leaders, faith-based organisations, traditional rulers and particularly, individuals taking responsibility.

10.The PTF continued to assess the level of compliance with the guidelines which came into effect on 4th May, 2020. While emphasising ownership, we consistently shared some aspects of the assessment during our daily national briefings pointing in the general direction of non-compliance.

11.Nevertheless, we are pleased to inform you that measures put in place yielded sufficient progress that requires consolidation to ensure that the health system and economy are in a position to adequately respond to any potential outcomes in the future – including a secondary outbreak.

12.The gradual re-opening of the economy has been sign-posted by the controlled opening, and increased access to markets and supermarkets, Banks and other income
yielding activities for the vulnerable population. Similarly, Corporations and Government offices partially opened their operations and services so as to facilitate the activities of other sectors.

13.Some manufacturing, construction and allied sectors also resumed. All these sectors ensured that adequate infection mitigation measures were put in place.

14.In recognition of the global impact of COVID-19 on economies and the need to stimulate and positively turn around our economy, the Federal Government has been implementing various stimulus packages offered to businesses and state Governments through the CBN. These include:

i. Reduction of interest rates from 9 percent to 5 percent for all CBN intervention facilities;

ii. Restructuring of loans to longer tenors for all companies whose businesses are adversely impacted by COVID-19;

iii. N50billion facilities to household and businesses adversely impacted by COVID-19 through NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank;

iv. N100bn facility to Pharmaceutical and health sectors companies to retool their businesses;

v. N1 trillion facility to Agric and Manufacturing companies to expand and set up new factories; and

vi. Suspension of repayment of all state government loans for one year to give states ample financing room to pay salaries.

15.Within the two weeks of phase One of the eased lockdown, the following accomplishments were also recorded:

i. Increase in the number of laboratories in the COVID-19 network from 15 to 26;

ii. Additional 15,558 tests were conducted in the country (with a cumulative total of 35,098 tests and the number of tests per million increasing from 50 to 154;

iii. Increase in the number of trained personnel to 11,409 health workers thereby boosting capacity for case management;

iv. Procurement and distribution of additional personal protective equipment and ventilators across the country;

v. The doubling time of the virus has slowed down from 7 days to 11 days;

vi. The number of beds available for isolation and case management increased from 3500 to 5000 beds nationwide;

vii. The efficiency of the identification, testing, evacuation, and isolation process for confirmed cases has increased; and
viii. progressive improvement in capacity of the health system to respond to the outbreak.

16. In mobilising all sectors and communities to take individual and collective responsibility in the fight against the pandemic in our National Response, the PTF-COVID-19 remains highly appreciative of the efforts of the private sector, public spirited Nigerians, corporate organisations, the armed forces, intelligence and security community, the media, as well as the International Community for their unquantifiable support in the battle against the COVID-19. The response has been overwhelming and encouraging.

17. Last week, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation introduced the transparency dimensions in the management of certain components of financial donations by publishing the receipts in the newspapers. I, in addition, explained the processes for other components so that Nigerians can be assured that accountability remains the hallmark of this administration and the PTF. All monies donated are safe and secure and would be judiciously utilised and accounted for.

18. Ladies and gentlemen, the outcomes of the first phase of the eased lockdown have been mixed. While some objectives were met, our assessment showed that non-compliance was rampant but the PTF nevertheless continued to persuade the populace through its messaging and daily briefing, on the need to take responsibility.

19. As I mentioned on Thursday, May 14th, 2020, the PTF briefed the Federal Executive Council and the National Security Council on the progress made and the challenges. It has similarly submitted its report to Mr. President at the conclusion of this phase on Sunday 17th May, 2020.

20. The PTF considers it important to let you know that it has relied largely on science, statistics, lessons learnt from other parts of the world and an evaluation of our peculiar circumstances to draw its conclusions on the outcome of the last two weeks. For example, our surveillance, infection prevention and control activities identified nine high burden local government areas in the federation reporting high number of cases and accounting for 51% of the total number of infections in the country. All the nine are densely populated local government areas nationwide.

21. We have also seen that though Nigeria’s caseload still lags behind several other countries, our large population and relatively high degree of mobility and urbanisation (50%) places us at an increased risk for high transmissibility. Therefore, our consideration of ease of restrictions has to balance lives and livelihoods and the slow and gradually phased approach should be science and data driven.

22.To arrive at our final recommendations to Mr. President, we objectively and frankly interrogated certain critical factors and wish to inform you as follows:

i. Is the transmission of the virus under control: –
Measures put in place have collectively slowed down the transmission of the Virus e.g. elongating the doubling time which has changed from 7 to 11 days;

ii. Is the health care system equipped to detect, test, isolate and treat every case and trace every person who came in contact with a positive case: Health care system has been better equipped to detect, test, isolate and treat every case, and trace every person who came into contact with a positive case with the increase in the number of laboratories from 15 to 26; ramping up of testing to a cumulative total of 35,098;

iii. Are outbreaks minimized in special settings like health facilities and Nursing homes: Though we have recorded infection of a number of medical personnel in our facilities, which is not peculiar to Nigeria, we have increased their training in care management and provided additional Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE);

iv. Are there measures in workplaces and schools to prevent the spread of the virus: With the gradual reopening of workplaces, markets, schools, etc, prescriptions have been made for the prevention of infection and spread of the virus;

v. Are the risks of importing more cases from outside the country being managed: The risks associated with importation has been seriously minimised with the ban flights, closure of borders and the mandatory 14 days quarantine for any one arriving Nigeria; and

vi. Are local communities educated, engaged and empowered to adjust to the ‘new norm’: Engagement with communities and other stakeholders has now become the new focus of our strategy.

23.The inevitable conclusion of the PTF, is that the fight against COVID-19 is long term as the virus is not likely to go away very soon. This is further underscored by the fact that no vaccine is expected till around the end of 2021. Nigeria is not where we wish to be in terms of control, ownership, infrastructure and change of behavior. We must do more.

24. Last week we hinted about the refocusing of our policy on community ownership. Going forward, we shall intensify the mobilization of individuals, especially the communities to take ownership of this fight. This will be accompanied by a corresponding development of infrastructure and other Public health measures to be undertaken in every community and at every phase of the response. These include: surveillance, case finding, testing, isolation, tracing and quarantining contacts.

25. Ladies and gentlemen, the reality is that in spite of the modest progress made, Nigeria is not yet ready for full opening of the economy and tough decisions have to be taken for the good of the greater majority. Any relaxation will only portend grave danger for our populace.

26.Advisedly, the current phase of eased restriction will be maintained for another two weeks during which stricter enforcement and persuasion measures will be pursued.

27.The two weeks extension of Phase one of the eased restriction is also to enable other segments of the economy prepare adequately for compliance with the guidelines, preparatory to reopening in the coming weeks. For the PTF, we share your pains but our future is in the hands of every Nigerian and future decisions will depend greatly on our compliance.

28.Based on the recommendations of the PTF, Mr. President has approved the following:

i) The measures, exemptions, advisories and scope of entities allowed to reopen under phase one of the eased locked down, shall be maintained across the federation for another two weeks effective from 12 00 midnight today (18th May, 2020 to 1st June, 2020);

ii) intensifying efforts to “tell (communicate), trace (identify) and treat (manage)’ cases;

iii) elevating the level of community ownership of non-pharmaceutical interventions;

iv)Maintain the existing lockdown order in Kano for an additional two weeks;

v) Imposition of precision lockdown in states, or in metropolitan/high-burden LGAs, that are reporting a rapidly increasing number of cases, when the need arises. This would be complemented with the provision of palliatives and continued re-evaluation of the impact of the interventions; and

vi) Aggressive scale up of efforts to ensure that communities are informed, engaged and participating in the response with enhanced public awareness in high risk states.

29. Specific implementation guidelines would be communicated by the National Coordinator during this press briefing and would be circulated through the conventional and social media.

30. For sustainability of the gains recorded, the PTF shall continue to support states by developing guidelines to shape decision-making for future steps in the response and aggressively scale up efforts to ensure effective community information.

32. It is believed that these steps will help consolidate the gains made so far, and position the country to effectively overcome the pandemic.

33. In the interest of our nation, the role of the States and Local Governments remain critical to success. The PTF shall engage with the States on the effective implementation of these guidelines. This morning, I participated in a virtual conference between the President and the Nigeria Governors Forum and the subject of collaboration was robustly discussed.

34. As contained in the address of Mr. President on 27th April, 202, State Governors are reminded to align their state specific measures with the guidelines issued by the Presidential Task Force.

35. The level of compliance has been reviewed and a specific directive has been issued to the security agencies to carry out strict enforcement of all measures. These include the nationwide curfew from 8.00pm to 6.00pm; the ban on interstate travels and the wearing of facemasks/coverings in public.

36.The security agents are however urged to be mindful of the human rights of citizens, while citizens are equally urged to recognize the dangers posed to self, their loved ones and the entire community if they fail to take responsibility.

37.Let me state categorically, that the exemptions allowed under the phase one are still in place. Particularly, Government remains conscious of the fact that we are in the rainy season and farming activities is critical to food and national security. It should therefore, not be hindered.

38.I therefore urge States and Security agencies to support, encourage and allow our farmers to carry out their activities.

39.We wish to appeal to all Nigerians to show understanding, demonstrate patriotism and take responsibility. Humanity is in great peril and we are all in danger. Most importantly, we repeat our call on all Nigerians to please STAY HOME and STAY SAFE

40.I now call on the Hon. Minister of Health and the DG NCDC to update the nation while the National Coordinator presents the new guidelines.

41.I thank you for listening.

PDP gives FG two-day ultimatum to fish out Chinese Doctors

COVID-19:
PDP DEMANDS CHINESE DOCTORS’ WHEREABOUTS FROM FG

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party has demanded the whereabouts of the Chinese Medical Team ushered into the country by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, to help in safeguarding the health of Nigerans from Coronavirus pandemic, before the next two days.

This was contained in a Press Release signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Saturday and which was obtained by Nigeran Platform.

The Medical Doctors primarily brought into Nigera from China by the Federal Government on April 8, 2020, were said to assist the Nigeran citizens in training local Medical Personnel and help to effectively treat confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.

Since their whereabouts remain unknown to the members of the public, the opposition party (PDP) has raised the alarm, insisting that the scenario may spell doom for the country, in the Federal Government”s relentless drive to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

According to the party’s spokesman, “PDP’s position is predicated on the alarming declaration by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, that he cannot account for the whereabouts of the Chinese team, who were brought into our country from the epicenter of the pandemic, despite repeated warnings and disapprovals by our medical experts and professional bodies”.

“More so, the minister’s statement had heightened apprehensions in the public space that the Chinese team, whose identity and activities have been shrouded in secrecy, might have been brought in by a certain cabal for another purpose outside the general public good”.

“The party described as suspicious, creepy and weird that the minister of health, who had repeatedly assured that the Chinese were brought to render medical services and trainings; and even went personally to receive them at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on April 8, 2020; in an elaborately publicized event, can no longer account for the team”.

“The PDP recalls how officials of the APC-led administration had vehemently defended the invitation of the Chinese team and offered them full state protocol upon arrival, only to now turn around to disclaim the supposed experts, deny involvement with them and even forbid Nigerians from enquiring about their whereabouts”.

“Our party is worried that the APC-led Federal Government is being economical with the truth, with its officials playing politics with the lives of our citizens and health safety of our nation”.

*The PDP holds that government’s inability to account for the Chinese team amounts to direct betrayal of public trust, which has heightened fears of conspiracies by certain unpatriotic interests in the APC and its administration to compromise the health architecture of our nation and expose our citizens to danger”.

*Nigerians can recall how the Federal Government had failed to respond to demands by our party and other well-meaning Nigerians for the particulars of the members of the team, their medical status, scope of operation, detailed itinerary within our country as well as the safety of the equipment they brought into our nation”.

“Our party had expressed worry over scary reports of escalation of the scourge in certain countries reportedly after the arrival of Chinese medical personnel in those countries and insisted that the APC administration should be held responsible should there be any sudden upsurge in COVID-19 infection and deaths in our country, with the arrival of the said Chinese medical team”.

“We invite Nigerians to note that whereas our nation’s COVID-19 data, upon the arrival of the Chinese team in April, stood at 254 confirmed cases with 44 successfully treated by our doctors and 6 deaths, which reportedly had other underlining ailments”.

“Today, the data stands at no less than 5,450 cases and 171 deaths”.

“Our party therefore insists that the PTF on COVID-19 should immediately come out with the truth and provide explanations on the whereabouts of the team in the next 48 hours so as to douse the tension in the country” , Ologbondiyan concluded.

PDP Zonal Secretary welcomes returnees in Osun

PDP SOUTH WEST SECRETARY WELCOMES SDP RETURNEES

The secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo has welcomed members of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) back into the fold.

The SDP members led by its Chairman in the 2019/2019 general election in Osun State, Dr. Bayo Faforiji officially received PDP flag on Tuesday May 12, from the acting Chairman of the party, Elder Sunday Akanfe (Atidade). Dr. Faforiji has subsequently directed all his members to join the PDP as active members henceforth.

Recall that Dr. Faforiji, who originally defected from the PDP to the SDP in the run-up to Osun 2018 governorship election, has led a political structure known as “Kosemani movement” which almost tore the erstwhile SDP apart.

In a Press release obtained by Nigeran Platform, the PDP Zonal Secretary congratulated Dr. Faforiji and all his followers across all the local governments in the state for a successful coming-back home to their original political platform.

Rev. Bunmi Jenyo also charged all PDP members from ward to state level to be accommodating to their brothers and sisters, who are now returning to their original homes from the defunct SDP.

“It is now time for consolidation, hospitality and encouragement of all our lost members, who are now returning to to our great party (PDP), as led by a great leader of men with exemplary political acumen, Dr. Bayo Faforiji of the defunct SDP” Rev. Jenyo said.

Kosemani movement dissolved into the PDP despite the Coronavirus pandemic saying “this became necessary because nobody knows the duration of the Covid-19 lockdown period and there is the need to take care of the interest of the generality of our members”
“Our agreement today (Tuesday) is that our members should approach their ward secretaries for registration” Dr. Faforiji has said.

Dr. Bayo Faforiji was a former state commissioner and two-term Chairman of Atakumosa East local government of Osun State.

OSUN PDP! THE CULPABILITY OF CHIEF OLU ALABI AS A MOLE – 08/05/2020

OSUN PDP! THE CULPABILITY OF CHIEF OLU ALABI AS A MOLE – 08/05/2020

Nobody, within the political landscape of Osun State, doubts the veracity of the fact that it is presently needless to bicker like a hopeless loser, over a political itinerary that makes provision for hierarchy, which is capable of making a decision or reaching a conclusion in the interest of the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of the living spring, solely on the interest of the party.

The order by the PDP National Working Committee that the erstwhile Chairman in Osun State Chapter of the party, Hon. Soji Adagunodo to step aside pending the investigation and determination of allegations of malfeasance, antiparty and misappropriation of funds levelled against him, is still leaving some scars on the party, as a BoT member from the state, Chief Olu Alabi has proven to be a saboteur and a clog in the wheels of the progress of the party, by his unguided utterances to some officers of PDP at different levels.

It is explicitly clear, in accordance with the PDP constitution that there must not be a vacuum in the administration of party affairs, especially at the level of State Chairmanship, as in the current case of Osun State. Therefore, the immediate appointment of Elder Sunday Olatunde Akanfe (Atidade) in acting capacity is no doubt, a round peg in a round hole, it is indeed in tandem with the world’s acceptable standards.

But unfortunately, to some black legs, green snakes and gluttonous PDP elder(s) acclaimed ably represented by Chief Olu Alabi in a politically sponsored interview with the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers, on 4th of May, 2020, the relative peace and progress of the opposition party must not be maintained, but rather be jeopardized.

Though members, leaders and other critical stakeholders did not fold their arms. Chief Olu Alabi’s position is not unconnected with his selfish, perfidious and treacherous rapport with the current All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Osun State. A sort of political ‘leader’ like Chief Olu Alabi, who has jettisoned the future of the posterity in a complete compromise for a pot of porridge in the hands of the ruling APC. So shameful that the old man can be dancing naked in the market square!

Dr. Olu Alabi’s single vote on the Election Day was for either APC or PDP because he could not be trusted by the words of his mouth, following his critical steps, activities and body language as a destroyer within the Osun PDP. Truly, there is freedom of association as spelt out in Nigeria’s constitution, which makes individual to choose between A or B or vice versa, as the case may be, but as an old man that he is, he should be able to stand on his tentacles wherever he is, as a man. Recall that PDP lost gallantly in Chief Alabi’s polling unit, ward and Olorunda local government that he hails from during 2018/2019 general elections.

Sadly, at the old age capable to be an elder stateman which Chief Alabi unconditionally falls into, the gluttonous and destructive tendencies in him have snuffed decency, courtesy and integrity out of his life. Thus remaining in him lies, tricks, antics and intrigues of a political jobber who has already missed his road in its entirety.

As it stands today, Chief Olu Alabi is a mole in Osun PDP. He is and represents the interest of the ruling government within the PDP, with a view to contribute his quota to the second term agenda of the incumbent governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola. He hosts, works and receives gifts from the government of Osun State at intervals.

Little wonder why Dr. Olu Alabi deliberately invited governor Gboyega Oyetola to grace his last birthday celebration in his abode. The latter who snatched at the occasion to lavish unspeakable gifts on the former, obviously in appreciation to Chief Alabi over the 2018 governorship election and till today.

You can imagine the highest degree of disloyalty, lack of integrity and failure on the part of Chief Olu Alabi, insinuating that himself and his ghost allies were present with the governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde while the zoning of slots of South West Zonal Executive Committee, was done.
It is a lie from the pit of hell. How can a new entrant into the PDP BoT claim to be in attendance in the zoning of position when actually, the incumbent National Vice Chairman (South West), Dr. Eddy Olafeso was not even there.

Dr. Olu Alabi has indeed bitten more than he can chew, considering his nocturnal roles he is playing in fueling the politically masterminded crisis rocking the Osun PDP.

It is most laughable, ridiculous and absolutely unthinking that Chief Alabi is also insinuating that the PDP National Vice Chairman. Eddy Olafeso was no longer interested in running the governorship race of Ondo State. When actually, the lying old man, Chief Alabi was neither in discussion nor told by anyone that Dr. Olafeso is no more running. In fact, Dr. Olafeso is very much in the governorship election race of his State as we speak. This is a height of irresponsibility, insubordination and recklessness on the part of Chief Olu Alabi.

It is also wild, perfidious and forgetful of Chief Olu Alabi, who now turn against the general will of PDP leaders in Osun, South West and National, including Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, to castigate the latter over spurious, unfounded and watery allegations of connivance to remove Hon. Soji Adagunodo from office. Chief Olu Alabi is definitely on his own as reputable, reasonable and respected leaders such as Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Ebenezer Babatope and others have denied having knowledge about Chief Alabi’s view concerning Osun PDP. They all washed their hands very clean, pointing to the fact that Chief Alabi remains a chronic liar at this his old age, sad….indeed very sad.

As a matter of fact, Chief Olu Alabi was the highest beneficiary of the office of the Zonal Secretary, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo who singlehandedly suggested, processed and ensured that Chief Alabi became one of the members of PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), when the opportunity arises, the political post he had jealously desired since his birth into the political history of Osun State.

Not only as beneficiary of BoT membership did he (Olu Alabi) freely enjoy in Rev. Jenyo’s largesse as the Zonal Secretary, sometimes ago when his own son wanted to kill him in his Abuja residence, apparently because of his characteristic dubiousness, it was the same Rev. Bunmi Jenyo that GOD used to provide Police protection for Chief Olu Alabi, for countless months to save his life.

Also in the purported Nigerian Tibune interview, Chief Olu Alabi mentioned that the office of the Zonal Secretary was being used for the Adeleke Family of Ede, forgetting that the post is to salvage the interest of all PDP members in the six States of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Osun and Ekiti. As the Zonal Secretary of South West PDP, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo is guided by the party’s constitution and allowed to work hand in hand with other Zonal Executives for the progress of the in party in the entire Yorubaland.

Only recently, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo took Chief Olu Alabi’s letter to Abuja for the inclusion of his name in the PDP BoT list. Does it mean that anyone who is not working directly for Chief Alabi’s parochial interest must be crucified? The scenario in question of the contents of his interview in Nigerian Tribune clearly portray Chief Alabi as a selfish glutton, a backbiting extremist and a disgrace to adulthood in the political landscape of Osun State.

The Osun State PDP Working Committee (SWC), State Executives & all the local government Chairmen under the Chairmanship (in acting capacity) of Elder Sunday Akanfe has begun work in earnest, to the progress and development of Osun PDP, so Dr. Olu Alabi should go and bury his head in shame over his reckless, lying and unguided comments in the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers.

Covid-19 : OOF’s trust in Ekiti people renewed

In furtherance of its sensitivity and social responsibilities to the people, Omo Oninuure Foundation, (OOF) a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) has distributed face masks, sanitizers and other relief materials to the people on Monday, in its efforts to cushion the effect of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Ekiti West local government area of Ekiti State.
