IBA COMMUNITY BEGS GOV ADELEKE TO REHABILITATE INISHA – IBA-IREE ROAD

The people of Iba in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State have appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke to come to the aid of the town by facilitating the rehabilitation of the roads that lead to the town..

The traditional ruler of the town, Eburu of Iba, Oba (Prof) Adekunle Adeogun Okunoye Oyedeji 11 who called on the Governor to come to the aid of the town, said all the roads that lead to the town are currently in deplorable condition.

This, the monarch said is affecting economic and commercial activities in the town as the ancient town of Iba has many commercial and economic potentials if the roads are in good condition

He cited the roads that lead to Iba from Inisha, Iree and Obaagun as main roads which are in deplorable condition, saying that successive governments in the state have neglected the roads.

Oba Okunoye noted that the town had made series of appeals to the government in the past without any positive result to show.

He therefore called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to help the people of the town by ensuring that the roads are considered for rehabilitation in the next year’s budget.

Specifically, he stated that the Inisha -Iba-Iree road is significant to the state as those from Kwara State can ply the road while going to Iree and Ila-orangun axis of the state.

He recalled the communal efforts of the people of the town at rehabilitating the roads, adding that there’s a little to which the people can do due to the enormity of the project, hence the need for government’s assistance.

The monarch recalled that the government of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola was the one that rehabilitated the roads last, while successive governments had abandoned them

“I want to, on behalf of all the sons and daughters of Iba in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State appeal to the people’s Governor, Asiwaju Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke to help the people of Iba by ensuring the rehabilitation of Inisha -Iba-Iree road. This will enhance economic activities in the area and contribute to the development of the state,* he said.

He added that Iba town is an agrarian community with agricultural values which needs to be projected to the urban centres for the prosperity of the people and the economic development of the state.
