Happening now : Ondo agog as Olafeso sets to rescue people from APC government

ONDO 2020 :
OLAFESO REKINDLES HOPE OF ONDO PEOPLE

A leading contender of the governorship ticket under the umbrella of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Dr. Olorogun Eddy Olafeso has, today reawakened the hopes of a better tomorrow for everyone, if elected the Executive Governor of the State.

This was disclosed at the PDP Secretariat, where the State Caretaker Chairman of the opposition party, Dr. Clement Faboyede played host to the politician and the crowd of his followers, in the presence of the notable leaders and members.

Dr. Faboyede who issued the clearance certificate of qualification to run to Olafeso, also x-rayed the invaluable achievements of the gubernatorial aspirant and wished him him well despite his restraint, as the party Chairman, to mobilise or campaign for any aspirant, until after a transparent, fair and credible primary election.

While speaking, the PDP National Vice Chairman in the South West, who assured the people of Ondo State of his wealth of experience, capacity, commitment and readiness reiterated that his running for the governorship seat of Ondo State is neither a child’s play nor joke.

The former commissioner of information in Ondo State expressed his conviction to emerge victorious in both the forthcoming PDP Primaries and general election of Ondo State this year. “I am in this governorship race because I mean it and I will win by God’s grace” Olafeso said.

The Idepe-born, eloquent and dignity personified Olafeso from Okitipupa Local Government enjoined all the people of Ondo State to join hands with him and other like minds to rescue the State from the sinking ship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government.

According to him, “The joke of yesterday must be buried, the seriousness of yesterday needs a change of attitude today to rescue our State from the ruling APC. That party (APC) is not so easy to defeat, so all hands must be on deck to rescue Ondo State from clueless administration of the APC” he stated.

Recall that five governorship contenders for the post of the number one citizen of Ondo State from Okitipupa had collectively endorsed Dr. Olafeso to emerge the only candidate from the area, in a keenly contested shadow election.

Dr. Olafeso also promised, if given the opportunity to lead his people, to revisit the economic well-being of the State with a view to revive all sectors and salvage the interest of the masses of the State.

Dr. Olafeso promised to bring back the dividends of democracy enjoyed during the PDP administration in Ondo State.
“Once upon a time, a Governor left 35 Billion naira in the covers of the State but a Governor came and subject the State into debts. This is affecting all sectors in the state. We must revisit our economy”, Dr. Olafeso stated.

He also assured the people not to be an emperor but a servant leadership with listening ears for the common good, progress and fulfilment of the people of Ondo State.

With the clearance received from the State Chapter of the Party, his intimidating profile, antecedent and popularity, Dr. Olafeso is eminently qualified to obtain the intention form at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadatta Plaza, Abuja, anytime soon.

Court frees 8 over assault charges in Osun PDP

COURT STRIKES OUT CASE AGAINST OSUN PDP MEMBERS

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, presided over by Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara has struck out all charges of assault on eight members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The eight members of the party was dragged to Court by the PDP National Deputy Publicity Secretary, Hon. Diran Odeyemi and one Mr. Akin Adeyi in connection with a political conflict that transpired at the PDP Secretariat, Biket Area, Osogbo, in February 2020.

The prosecution had been unable to prove the allegation before the court as no witness has been called in respect of its claims against the respondents.

The prosecution team had also sought an adjournent of the court proceeding on the matter for a possible withdrawal of the case.

But the defense Counsel, Hashim Abioye had opposed further adjournent and prayed the Court to invoke the relevant provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Osun State to discharge and acquit all the defendants to forestall such charge again, in the future.

Delivering his judgement, Magistrate Ayilara struck out the charge against all the defendants, discharged and acquitted them all for lack of merit and inability of the prosecutors to prove their case beyond reasonable doubts.

Osun PDP acting Chairman, Elder Sunday Akanfe (Atidade) led other PDP chieftains to witness the proceedings in Court.

Interior Minister, Aregbesola under fire over 63rd birthday colloquium

HOW PDP CASTIGATED AREGBESOLA’S 63RD BIRTHDAY COLLOQUIUM

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has faulted the 63rd birthday colloquium of a former governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, describing his eight-year administration as a collosal waste.

The PDP stated, in a press release signed by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Sunday Bisi obtained by Nigeran Platform in Osogbo during the weekend, that Aregbesola’s reigh was a curse rather than blessing to the people of Osun State.

The immediate past governor, Aregbesola has come under fire of the opposition party, describing “as man troubled with dementia of his own failure, who under normal operations of a sane system, should be in jail answering for his financial crimes against the good people of Osun State”.

The PDP, while reacting to a virtual colloquium held to mark the 63rd birthday of the controversial former governor, advised Mr Rauf Aregbesola to stop struggling with open wound of his conscience which can only be healed by truthful admission of his failure occasioned by his insatiable lust for money bouyed by competitive tendencies of uncanny fraud.

The former governor had through his birthday colloquium held on Saturday tried to justify actions taken during his reign as the state governor and rewrite history of his fraudulent regime as one that was pro masses even when debris of his failed government have continued to threaten the very existence of the same people he claimed to have served.

The Osun PDP therefore sympathized with some members of APC in the country who out of idleness brought about by global pandemic of covid-19, participated in the Colloquium as innocent victims of misinformations and eminent guests railroaded to window dress a tattered image.

The PDP specifically wants to know if there is any need for a merriment invented technical valuation when it is clear enough that the measured assets on ground in Osun State are far below the quantum of the loans accessed to achieve the largely undelivered assets.

These loans according to PDP, have also proved to be far above collateral size of the state, aside running foul of all 5 C’s of Credit analysis of character, capacity, capital, collateral and conditions. It is suffice to say that the economic strength of the State, in liquidity and projections, were poorly and criminally padded by Aregbesola’s economic team of looters to unsuspecting lenders, with the sole aim of sun drying the state for their pleasure of greed.

We put it to the birthday voodoo economists to rise beyond intoxication from the colloquium tokenism and ask their host for justifiable reasons behind non completion of all major projects pinned to the loans obtained on behalf of the state.

Mr Bismark and governor El-rufai who specifically undertook the ‘Panel Beater’ job at the Colloquium should ask their host why Gbongan-Akoda Road Dualisation Project has till today, not gone beyond 20% completion despite awarding the 29km road for almost N29.5b (more than 1b/Km) to one construction company called RATCON and with a commensurate quantum of credit facility sourced and assessed for its timeous execution. We challenge Mr Bismark and Mr El-rufai to take a physical visit to the state and drive through this road on top speed savouring a road project of that magnitude, with any brand of car of their choice, perhaps they will return with their full body parts as guests of Aregbesola’s colloquium next year.

The PDP also challenged the pleasure making theorists to discard the graphic handouts given to them on MKO Abiola international airport, Ido-Osun and stake their name, life and dignity to fly with the smallest of Choppers, torch down at the airport without extra aviation fuel to make a detour when landing becomes impossible. This the party believe, will summarily solve all mysteries surrounding completion of these projects without unnecessary waste of calories on technicalities of Naira or Dollar.

18km Oba Adesoji Aderemi Osogbo East Bypass road awarded since July 2013 for another whooping sum of N14.5b,. The road scheduled for commissioning on June 2014 is yet to be completed till date even after sourcing and accessing the needed funds to execute same.

Osogbo-Ila Odo road, the N8b instantly deceased Opon imo project; the phantom but multi billion naira igi-iye project, the resources sapping tree planting on Ife-Ibadan road, the failed flower planting/beautification project in Osogbo which cost several residents of the state capital their landed properties and other irreplaceable means of livelihood, and several other disguised conduits of 0s, all of which suffered premature extinction as they were only programmed for fraudulent intensions

Of other specific importance, the PDP noted, is the O’Hub project for which billions of naira were sunk through Aregbesola’s man Friday, Bola Ilori ( he also incidentally happens to be his COS today as minister and is from Ondo town in Ondo state).

The PDP said the current interior minister only lured the current governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola into the saddle of failure.

“Aregbesola sold a dummy to nsuspecting Osun citizens that their farm produce would be ferried to Lagos through Dagbolu which was meant to be the hub of his scam and also bring back finished products from Lagos. Alas, no single product passed through Dagbolu for the whole eight years for which he was in office. The site today is a conducive habitat for large snakes and other dangerous animals”.

“It is is therefore painful enough that a state would continue to suffer consequences of massive corruption of some political expansionists. But it is more painful when some non-residents of the State who share no iota of pain and bear no burden imposed by fraudulent activities of their thieving friend, come out to spin narratives suggesting that the suffering populace of Osun should go and die from Aregbesola’s wilful inadequacies”.

“Unfortunately today, the government being led by Mr Aregbesola’s successor, his then chief of staff, Mr Gboyega Oyeyola is already dying in silence of financial incapacitation but cannot cry for obvious reasons of protecting the ass of their criminal in chief who happened to be their benefactor by way of acting the transmitter to the “remote control” of heinous violence ordered on the state by some blood sucking political buccaneers in Abuja to push through a defeated Oyetola through an infamous electoral rerun.

Osun PDP however warned Mr Gboyega Oyetola to learn to live by the unavoidable effects of their past transgressions and stop his current aggression at some members of the state workforce who are being threatened with sack letters after demanding simple explanations on their withheld cooperative deductions.

The concerned workers currently facing transferred aggression from Mr Oyetola’s led administration, according to reliable sources, are leaders of departmental cooperative societies, whose deductions have not been remitted for the past 5 months. The PDP reminded the governor that the workers being vilified are sons and daughters of the state who are no less critical to the survival of the state than Mr governor himself.

The party urged Mr Oyetola to rather beckon on his predecessor for financial assistance instead of undue intimidation of innocent workers, saying, the unremitted deductions are part of economic support scheme, borne out of ingenious perseverance of the innocent workers to support themselves and cushion the biting effects of APC government’s trade of scam in the state.

The PDP concluded by wishing Mr Aregbesola many more years of good health and sound mind on earth so as to witness factual prosperity of Osun state beyond ‘arrangee’ rhetorics of his ‘jollof rice’ economists and a known proponent of body bag electoral system. The party also prayed God to grant the former governor enough strength and stamina strong enough to support his frame when called upon to answer for his dubious reign in fullness of time.

PDP ZONAL SECRETARY CONGRATULATES ADELEKE AS COURT WITHDRAWS EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE

The Zonal Secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo has congratulated the party’s flagbearer in the 2018 governorship election in Osun State, Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke over his exclusion from a case bothering on examination malpractice at an Abuja High Court.

Justice Ekwo had on Thursday granted the prosecution intention to amend the case to exclude Ede-born politician from all charges in the suit, bothering on a case of alleged impersonation of Sen. Adeleke at Ojo Aro Community Grammar School, Ojo-Aro, Osun State.

In a press statement obtained by the Nigeran Platform in Osogbo on Friday, PDP Zonal Secretary maintained that the coast is completely clear for Sen. Adeleke to aspire or become the next governor of Osun State come 2022.

The statement also noted that all the cases bothering on eligibility to contest and examination malpractice levelled against Sen. Adeleke were mere “political distraction”.

As a result, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has been discharged and acquitted of all cases bothering on examination malpractices.

According to Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, “indications emerged on Thursday 28th May 2020 that the political distraction of a case of examination malpractice levelled against the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2018 governorship election in Osun State, cannot hold water as the Federal Government withdrew charges against Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke from the case”.

“It is another pointer to the fact that the Ede-born politician is eminently qualified, competent and clean to aspire and or become the Executive Governor of Osun State, in 2022”, he said.

Recall that Sen. Ademola Adeleke was dragged to the Justice Ekwo High Court in Abuja over an alleged commission of impersonation in the 2017 June/July NECO examination at Ojo Aro Community Grammar School, Ojo-Aro, Osun State,, alongside four other respondents.

Justice Ekwo had granted Sen. Adeleke bail to travel to the United States of America (USA) on medical grounds. At the mention of the case at the court on Thursday, the prosecution lawyer, Simon Lough had announced the intention of the state which the defendant’s lawyers led by Alex Izinyon (SAN) did not object, to amend the case to exclude Sen. Adeleke.

Rev Bunmi Jenyo emphasized that it is a feat that is capable to silence those who did not have confidence in Sen. Adeleke.

“This happening is another factor that puts a stop to insinuation that Sen. Adeleke might be having some legal huddles to cross to clinch the ladder of becoming the number one citizen of Osun State in 2022”.

“Also worthy of note are the other cases bothering on eligibility of Sen. Adeleke to contest the governorship post of Osun State had been struck out at the level of Supreme Court”, the statement stated.
