I am delighted to be here today and I sincerely thank Almighty God for making
this gathering possible.
Let me express my profound appreciation to God’s Plan (Eto Olorun) Multipurpose and Investment Limited and the entire Osun State Cooperative Movement for this honour, endorsement and demonstration of confidence in our administration.
I do not take this gesture for granted and I remain deeply grateful for your support and partnership.
I also wish to specially appreciate the Honourable Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe (FCSSM), for his dedication to the growth of the cooperative sector, as well as the Federation of Osun State Cooperative Unions and Societies (FOSCOOP) for its continued collaboration with government in promoting grassroots economic development.
When our administration came into office in November 2022, we made a commitment to build a government that prioritises the welfare of the people and creates opportunities for economic growth. This informed our decision to establish the Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment, the first of its kind in the history of our State.
Today, the cooperative sector in Osun State is stronger and more vibrant than ever before. Through various revolving loan schemes and empowerment initiatives, billions of naira have been made available to cooperative societies and their members. Thousands of households, traders, artisans, farmers, women and youths have benefited from these interventions.
Beyond this, our administration has continued to implement programmes that directly impact the lives of our people. Through the Food Bank Initiative, support has been provided to vulnerable residents while the Imole Business Empowerment Scheme has empowered thousands of women and youths with training, business support and start-up opportunities.
We have also strengthened cooperative education through the upgrading of the Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Cooperative College, Ode-Omu, now a campus of Osun State University.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, today’s endorsement is a clear indication that our people appreciate good governance and visible development. It is a motivation for us to do even more in our collective quest to build a prosperous and inclusive Osun State.
As we approach the governorship election of August 15, 2026, I humbly seek your continued support, prayers and votes. The journey we started together is yielding positive results, but there is still much work to be done. The ongoing investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, rural development and economic empowerment require continuity and stability.
I therefore appeal to members of the cooperative movement across the State to continue standing with our administration and to mobilise support for the continuation of people-centred governance in Osun State. On August 15, I urge you to come out peacefully and vote for continuity, progress and sustainable development.
I assure you that your confidence in our administration will never be taken for granted. We shall continue to serve diligently and remain committed to improving the welfare of all residents of our dear State.
Once again, I thank God’s Plan (Eto Olorun) Multipurpose and Investment Limited, the Osun State Cooperative Movement and all stakeholders present here today for this honour and endorsement.
