Central Senatorial adopts Adeleke as Osun PDP governorship candidate in 2022

CENTRAL SENATORIAL ADOPTS ADEMOLA ADELEKE AS OSUN PDP 2022 GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE

A former gubernatorial candidate in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke’s governorship bid received a major boost on Tuesday as the Central Senatorial District adopted him as sole candidate for the 2022 governorship election.

The prominent leaders of PDP in the District had gathered to articulate their plans towards having a successful outing in the next Gubernatorial election.

The meeting which was centered on serious awareness and preparation for the next Gubernatorial election.

At the meeting Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke was unanimously adopted as their preferred candidate without stoping or condemning other person(s) who may be aspiring.

The meeting however agreed that 2022 Gubernatorial election is very important and germane, hence the need for those who have 2023 ambition, in the Senatorial District, to rest it for now.

Also at the meeting, it was agreed that they are ready to work with everyone that is genuinely ready to work and support Sen. Adeleke’s gubernatorial ambition.

The meeting appreciated Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke and the entire Adeleke dynasty for their consistent support and contributions to the people in the State.

It was agreed that the meeting will be rotational and shall be taken round all the Local Governments in the Senatorial District.

Those who were in attendance and made their position known during the meeting include Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe, Alhaji Tijani Oladosu (Tilad), Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji, Alh. Ganiyu Olaoluwa (Asejere), Hon. Tunde Abesin (Senatorial Chairman), Rev’d Bunmi Jenyo and Mrs Ayo Awolowo.

OSUN POLY RELEASES HND ADMISSION LIST FOR 2020/2021 ACADEMIC SESSION

*URGES CANDIDATES TO ACCEPT OFFER WITHIN TWO WEEKS.

The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has said that it has released the first batch of Its Higher National Diploma (HND) Provisional Admission list for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.

A release by the Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Busari Salawu stated that the list has been uploaded on the portal of the Institution, while a copy of the list has also been pasted at the Admission Office of the Polytechnic, for the candidates to verify their admission status.

The statement enjoined all applicants to confirm their admission status on the Institution’s website at ospoly. edu. ng and follow the guidelines to accept the offer of the Provisional Admission, pay the acceptance fee, complete and print the acceptance form.

The Registrar maintained that any admitted candidate who refuses to pay the acceptance fee and completes the screening exercise within the next two weeks shall forfeit the offer of the Provisional Admission.

Osun NUJ celebrates Oyinlola at 70

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Osun State council has congratulated Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

A statement by the Chairman of the union, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu and Secretary, Comrade Bukola Elufadejin described the former Governor of Osun State, Prince Oyinlola as an accomplished democrat and a thoroughbred political icon.

Prince Oyinlola according to the statement was an exemplary leader who has contributed significantly to the growth and development of Osun State.

The statement also noted that the former Governor remained the pillar of sustainable democracy in the State for his forthrightness and commitment to human and capital development.

It therefore prayed God to give the Okuku-born Prince the knowledge and good health to continue to serve God and humanity.

2023 : ACTION ALLIANCE POISES TO TAKE OVER FROM APC – NATIONAL CHAIRMAN

The Action Alliance (AA) has declared that it is poised to taking over the reins of government from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2023.

The National chairman of the party, Hon Rufai Adekunle Omoaje who spoke shortly after he was reelected at the party’s national convention held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital at the weekend, said AA is the only alternative political party for Nigerians.

Omoaje who took a swipe at both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC, noted that the two major political parties are colossal failures, having disappointed Nigerians.

He said Nigerians are determined to take their fate in their own hands, hence the decision to join the AA, adding that some Progressive Nigerians had in the last few days identified with the party across the length and breadth of the country.

The AA National Chairman who was reelected alongside other National Executive Committee members, said both APC and PDP are not different from each other, as members of the two parties share the same political ideology.

He said “Nigerians are already tired of both the PDP and APC, which are the two major political parties we have in Nigeria today. Members of the two parties often cross carpet, which means they are one family.” “The only alternative that remains for Nigerians now is the Action Alliance.
Progressive minded people are already joining the party and you will see what will happen in the Anambra State governorship election which holds later this year and the other governorship elections which will hold before 2023,” he stressed.

He declared that the AA is already a threat to the APC, adding that the party will send APC packing at the federal level come 2023.

While condemning the policies of the APC led federal government, Omoaje urged Nigerians to vote out the party at all tiers of government and embrace the AA, which he said has welfarism agenda for the masses.

Osun state Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji has described the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the party to beat in the coming 2022 gubernatorial election because the party has done tremendously well through Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The Commissioner stated this on Wednesday while responding to questions from journalists shortly after his APC membership revalidation at his ward, Ward 9, Unit 3 Atile area in Ikire.

The Commissioner said the APC in the saddle of leadership through Governor Oyetola is the best thing that can happen to the people of Osun as the Governor is determined to continue to take the state to the next level of development.

Oyebamiji who arrived the ward in company of his wife, Dr/Mrs Shekinat Oyebamiji was welcomed by a mammoth crowd amidst pump and peasantry to kick-start the registration of party members.

He said the Governor’s zeal and passion for the development of all sectors of the state is a virtue that only the APC can deliver through any individual because growth, development, care for the masses and transparency in governance has always been the watchword of the party.

According to the Ikire born politician, “the series of achievements in the ongoing first term tenure of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is a testament to the fact it is only the APC that has the passion to sincerely develop our state.

“The infrastructural development witnessed in the state in just two years of the Oyetola administration is unprecedented and they are scattered all over the books and crannies of the state for people to see.

“Schools and hospitals are being built and renovated all over the state, the masses have always been the main target of the administration because governance is about ensuring that the majority of the people are okay.

“Salaries of Civil Servants are paid as and when due, without any form of agitation from the workers the Governor graciously approved the immediate implementation of the new minimum wage for workers”. Oyebamiji stated.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Ward, Mr Modupe Bamigboye urged all party members to troop out enmass for their registration.

FAYOSE’S FACTION BEGINS CONSOLIDATION, MOBILIZATION OF MEMBERS ACROSS STATES

As the preparation for the Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gathers momentum, former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Ayodele Fayose-led faction has agreed to consult, mobilize and consolidate on the delegates across the Zone, for optimal performance in the exercise.

This resolve was made on Wednesday in a meeting held at the former Vice Chairman (South West) Dr Eddy Olafeso’s residence, Akure, Ondo State.

Recall that this was a follow up to the meeting on Tuesday at the Lagos residence of Dr Fayose.

In a collective agreement, the group also endorsed the candidacy of Dr Olafeso and Rev. Bunmi Jenyo as Zonal Chairman and Secretary respectively.

This was a significant boost to the bid of Dr Olafeso and Rev. Jenyo to be returned into their former offices in the forthcoming Zonal Congress.

Member were also advised to go to their various states to win more delegates in support of the group.

The group also cautioned the National Organising Secretary and his office against fraudulent manipulation of the delegates list as the Zone is, according to them “not for sale”.

Also, the group directed its members to shun any invitation to any meeting whatsoever called by the former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, saying that such meetings are for personal gains and self-serving.

The group, according to the communique issued at the end of the meeting, is expected to visit Ekiti State in its next outing.

The group commends Former governor Fayose for his leadership and commitment to the struggle, which is set to emancipate the members of the party in the Zone.

The meeting has in attendance Former governor Fayose, Dr Olafeso, Rev. Jenyo, leaders across the Zone, State Chairmen, Zonal Caretaker Committee members, Ondo State local government PDP party Chairmen, key delegates among others.

Residents appeal rehabilitation of Obaagun township road

RESIDENTS APPEAL REHABILITATION OF OBAAGUN TOWNSHIP ROAD

Residents of obaagun in Ifelodun local government areas want osun state government to rehabilitate its township road to save residents from untold hardship.

The president of Obaagun development Union, Barrister Kayode Olowolagba who stated this in a chat with newsmen in Obaagun said the poor state of the road had affected socio economic activities of the community.

Mr Olowolagba expressed disappointment for non inclusion of the road in the recently approved township roads in the state and noted that the road had been in a deplorable state in the last twelve years.

He maintained that the road was significant to economic advancement of the town hence the need for government to urgently come to the aid of the community.

Also speaking, Another resident, Prince Lukuman Atobatele said the town had not tasted dividends of democracy and called on governor Gboyega Oyetola to give obaagun township road top priority in the interest of fairness and justice.

Prince Atobatele lamented that obaagun had suffered neglect in the past years as the community lack some basic amenities of life.

He urged government to always embark on programmes and policies that have direct impact on the lives of the citizenry.

S/West PDP : Fayose’s faction takes strategic meeting to Ondo

SOUTH WEST PDP: FAYOSE’S FACTION TAKES STRATEGIC MEETING TO ONDO, WEDNESDAY

Ahead of the South West Zonal Congress of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), factional strategic meetings led by the former Ekiti State Governor, Dr Ayodele Fayose, has been shifted to Akure, Ondo State on Wednesday.

This was sequel to a closed-door meeting held at Lagos residence of Fayose in Lagos, where the outcome could not be ascertained, as at the time of filing in this report.

None of those who attended the meeting was willing to speak about what was discussed in the meeting, with the attendance of the Zonal Caretaker Executives, four State Chairmen, former Zonal Chairman and Secretary, Dr Eddy Olafeso and Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, among others.

The Chairman of PDP State Chairmen in the Zone and Ogun State Chairman, Dr Sikirulai Ogundele who spoke briefly to newsmen simply said “we the leaders of Fayose faction are meeting Ondo State stakeholders tomorrow, Wednesday 10th February 2021”.

In a swift reaction, he also condemned the activities of a former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who according to him, is benefitting materially from the crises rocking the party in the South West.

He also charged Prince Oyinlola to live a life of an elder statesman that he is supposed to be.

Eburu pours encomiums as Oyinlola clocks 70 years on Earth

The Eburu of Iba, Oba (Prof) Adekunle Adeogun Okunoye Oyedeji II has felicitated with the former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as he celebrates his 70th birthday.

The monarch, while extolling the virtues of the former Governor, said Oyinlola represents an uncommon breed of political leader.

He said the God’s endowed wisdom of Prince Oyinlola is second to none and he has significantly made use of the wisdom in the last 70 years of his existence on earth.

The monarch who lauded the numerous contributions of former Governor Oyinlola to the peace and development of Osun State, urged Oyinlola to continue with his habit of making peace.

Oba Okunoye who is an educationist of international repute, recalled the laudable achievements of Oyinlola when he held sway as the Governor of the state between 2003 and November 2010, saying that the former Governor contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of his state.

“On behalf of Eburu-in-Council and the entire people of Iba, I congratulate Prince Oyinlola on his 70th birthday anniversary.”

The Eburu also described Prince Oyinlola as a great prince and outstanding leader in Yoruba land and an illustrious son of Iba.

“Despite his nobility, unparalleled and enviable achievements in just 70 years, Prince Oyinlola, respect and promotion of Yoruba culture stands him out among his peers,” the monarch stressed.

He added that the Omoluabi ethos always demonstrated by the former Governor also stand him out among his peers.

He said “the record of a thoroughbred Prince of King Oyinlola’s dynasty in Okuku as a professional soldier and an accomplished civilian administrator remains exemplary and perfectly qualifies him as primus inter pares among statesmen in contemporary Nigeria.”

Eburu wishes Prince Oyinlola more success as he continues to serve humanity and prays that as he continues his life journey his good nature and character shall never depart him.

The monarch also prayed to God to grant the Okuku born prince long life and good health, with greater accomplishments in life.
