VILLAGE PEOPLES MOVEMENT VOWS TO SUPPORT GOVERNOR ADELEKE FOR SECOND TERM
Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has been applauded for his giant strides in every sector of the economy of Osun State.
This was the position of the leadership of the Village Peoples Movement, Osun State who paid a working visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo in his office, in the Government Secretariat, Abere recently.
Village Peoples Movement under the leadership of Hon. Olamide Awosunle, former House of Representatives Candidate in Ife Federal Constituency, also vowed to use all within its powers to support Governor Adeleke’s reelection bid.
VPM is into grassroots sensitisation, youth political participation, mobilisation and advocacy as well as political re-orientation and sponsorship of radio sensitisation programmes.
According to the VPM President, Honourable Awosunle said, “having carefully accessed the transformation in every nook and cranny of Osun State by His Excellency, in terms of infrastructure, education, health, Agriculture, Commerce and Industry, we are supporting him wholeheartedly for the second term in office.
In his response, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr Jenyo appreciated the movement for the visit and urged them to continue in the spirit of love, support and solidarity for Governor Adeleke in his second term bid.
“The people of Osun State are resolute, they are eager to cast their votes for the Accord (A) and the talk-and-do Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, come August 15 governorship polls”, the Commissioner said.
Dr. Jenyo has since linked the VPM support group to the relevant unit of the Ademola Adeleke Campaign Committee for further collaboration.
GOVERNOR ADELEKE REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STATE INDUSTRIALISATION
● DIRECTS STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF 45 DAYS FOR PROCESSING OF C-of-O
Osun state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to the industrialisation of Osun state using a public private partnership model.
Addressing a group of Chinese investors who are setting up factories around Ile Ife on Sunday evening, the governor said the state government deliberately enforced the ease of doing business from 2022 to date to facilitate inflow of investors and industrialists, locally and internationally.
According to the governor, tax payments and administration were harmonised to remove multiple taxation on businesses, a policy he said reduced the burden on small businesses across the state.
“The state government also digitised the tax payment system alongside deployment of technology for a one stop shop for investors”, the governor noted, adding “we upgraded the state investment agency to speed up responses and services to investors.
“We remove bureaucratic bottlenecks in securing business permits. From the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Land, a strict timeline is enforced to attend to businessmen and citizens alike.
“Our free trade zones neglected for more than twelve years are back on stream. We encourage foreign investors to join other investors who are already securing spaces at the free trade zone. Several companies are already taking positions in the zone.
“We pioneered the 45 day window for the processing of certificates of occupancy. Huge successes are recorded in this area. I have received calls from state clients and residents who have gotten their C-of-O within the stipulated timeframe.
“I am hereby directing that there should be no slowing down on the implementation drive. As much as I commend the ministry of land for doing a good job in the land reform sector, I task the management of the ministry never to slow down. The 45-day window must be sustained.
“Any business client experiencing any delay should directly launch complaints at the office of the Commissioner for Commerce, Commissioner for Land and as a last resort, directly to my office. We are committed to industrialising Osun under a PPP arrangement.
The governor commended the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup and other royal fathers for their relentless push to drive investors into Osun state, noting “we deeply appreciate their passion and committment to the industrialisation of our dear state”.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the Chinese Prodigy Group of Companies, Mr. Chi, said his company is seeking to expand to Osun state after presence in six other states of the Federation.
According to him, the prodigy is a group of companies producing doors of various models, bolts, nuts and gums, assuring the governor that the firm is ready to build the factory once the land issue is resolved.
“We are committed to setting up our factory here in Osun. We will talk to our partners about opportunities presented by the Free Trade Zone. We are glad with the investment environment”, the leader of the 10 man delegation said.

COMMISSIONER COMMENDS OMO-OLUWA INITIATIVE FORUM OVER EMPOWERMENT OF OSUN CENTRAL CONSTITUENTS
The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo has commended the Omo-Oluwa Initiative Forum for prioritising the welfare and wellbeing of the people of Osun Central Senatorial District.
This was contained in the Commissioner’s Keynote address at the Osun Central Empowerment Programme organised by the senatorial aspirant, Mr. Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi, held at the Governor’s Hall, Leisure Spring Hotel, Osogbo on Thursday, 30th April, 2026.
The Commissioner also charged the over 200 empowerment beneficiaries, drawn across the ten local governments, to register their businesses with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), form a cooperative society and maintain meticulous records to track income, expenses and growth.
According to the Commissioner, “Omo-Oluwa Initiative Forum deserves commendation. By prioritising barbering, agro-processing, adire, liquid soap and balm production – trades with low startup costs, daily demand and export potential, you are aligning with Osun’s economic revival”.
“To our participants who are being empowered today, the starter packs you are receiving today are not handouts but seed capital. The Forum has sown the seed, your role is to nurture it into abundance”.
“Register your business promptly with the CAC via One Stop Shop at the Osun Investment Promotion Agency (OSIPA). Join or form a cooperative society for collective bargaining,access to loans and shared expertise”.
“Train others in your craft, creating a multiplier effect that turns 200 empowered individuals into 5,000 employed tomorrow”.
“Let me reassure you that Governor Adeleke’s administration will continue to prioritise an Osun where no able person is idle, and no skill is wasted. From Iwo to Ikire, Ejigbo to Ile-Ife, Osogbo to Ilesa, our message is the same, Imole de, okunkun parada!”, the Commissioner said.
GOVERNOR ADELEKE SETS RECORD STRAIGHT ON FREEDOM PARK, EXPOSES APC’S LIES, PROPAGANDA
The attention of the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo has been drawn to a frivolous, unfounded and unthinking social media post, that the State government led by Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has sold the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.
The assertion is not only ridiculous, it is also barbaric. It is indeed the figment of imagination of the enemy of Osun State, who have failed in their many attempts to blackmail, malign and disrepute the personality and good governance of the State Governor, especially in the economic sector.
The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) with no blueprint, agenda or ideas about effective governance should, ordinarily be ignored but this is to set the record straight, once and for all.
The Nelson Mandela Freedom Park sits on the landed property of Federal Government, Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), but developed by the government of Osun State under Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, mainly for the purpose of Urban Renewal.
Any interested member of the public can fact-check the ownership of the Freedom Park, through the Nigerian Railway Corporation, for the record.
So, if some people, who are bereft of ideas about issue-based campaign, decency and good governance, are now making laughable allegation, they should be totally ignored.
It is abundantly clear to the public, especially the good people of Osun State that Governor Adeleke is running his government with the fear of GOD, integrity, passion and dedication to the transformation of lives of the citizens.
His Excellency, the Asiwaju of Edeland has neither sold any government property nor borrowed a dime from anyone, despite his transformative achievements in Infrastructure, Commerce and Industry, Health, Education, Agriculture and workers’ welfare in the State.
No wonder why the masses rejected the APC in the 2022 poll and are prepared to do it again, come August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election of Osun State. They have tested and tasted both governments of APC and that of Governor Adeleke. People who are obviously envious of Governor Adeleke’s sterling performance in governance should be ignored.

BUNMI JENYO LAUDS GOVERNOR ADELEKE ON PAYMENT OF BACKLOG OF OSUN SALARY ARREARS
The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo has lauded Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for his regular payment of salary arrears of the Osun workers, who were owed till the end of the Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola’s administration in 2022.
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner, which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Monday.
Despite Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola’s inability to pay the humongous debt, running to billions of Naira, Governor Adeleke has cleared over 30 months half-salary, being a debt inherited from the Oyetola’s administration, to the rightful owners in different categories, across the Osun State Civil Service.
Members of the public are hereby reminded of the sheer pessimism of the former Governor during a governorship debate in Osogbo, the State Capital, where he said emphatically that no government would be able to pay the workers’ debts.
Little did the former Governor know that passionate, focused and responsible governance could sort out the debts, within the space of four years. Today, as promised during the debate that if he was elected, Governor Adeleke has paid the substantial part of the debt incurred to the State by the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under which Alhaji Oyetola served as the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
No doubt, Governor Adeleke is a promise keeper. This is an example of promise made and kept by His Excellency.
Today, the workers with their families who were once demoralised and treated with disdain during Oyetola’s government, are now smiling to banks at intervals, receiving their salary arrears from the Osun State government, ably led by the people’s Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
To demonstrate his statemanship that knows no bounds, Governor Ademola Adeleke ensured that former Governor Oyetola, his cabinet members and other government functionaries also received their owed entitlements directly from their varying banks. This is exemplary of a true leader with politics without bitterness!
While the former Governor’s uninformed position are being defeated, as though himself in the 2022 governorship polls, workers, their family members, loved ones and the entire Osun people are resolute to return the Asiwaju of Edeland to the office, through ballot, come August 15, 2026.
Osun people have tasted both governments and need not a seer to convince them about the continuity of light over darkness, wealth over poverty and humanity over wickedness. The people of the State are in love with Governor Adeleke, who is courageous, visionary and passionate about his citizens’ welfare in all ramifications.
The masses are prepared to vote and re-elect the passionate Governor for another term of four years, mainly to complete his good works, targeted at improving the lives of his citizens.
According to the Commissioner, “His Excellency, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke must be commended for great works he is doing, across all sectors of the economy in Osun State. Specifically, kudos must be given to Mr. Governor for keeping his promise to clear the backlog of Osun workers salary arrears. GOD will continue to strengthen and bless him to do more, Amen”.
“Mr. Governor has put lies and its peddlers to shame. Their impossibilities have been made possible. Governor Adeleke has transformed the lives of Osun workers and citizens”, he said.

BUNMI JENYO URGES OPPOSITION APC TO FACE REALITY, STOP CHEAP BLACKMAIL
The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo has cautioned the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) against the usage of propaganda and cheap blackmail and face issue-based campaign ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election.
The Commissioner who pointed out that no blackmail has won any credible election anywhere in the world, charged the APC and its governorship candidate to start telling the people what they wanted to do if elected into the office.
He advised the APC Campaign Director General, Hon. Wole Oke to stop his usual song that the Executive Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke would not be on the ballot for the forthcoming polls. He challenged him to prepare his mind and face the reality of the will of the electorate.
According to the Commissioner, the people of Osun State are wiser, their eyes are open and are prepared to re-elect the performing Governor Ademola Adeleke for the second term of office. “People can now differentiate the democracy dividends obtainable during APC’s four-year tenure and less than Governor Adeleke’s administration”, he said.
“Governor Adeleke has delivered on his promises made during electioneering in 2022. People can see, feel and touch it. The achievements of Governor Adeleke are accessible in the nooks and crannies of Osun State. No doubt he is genuinely loved and wanted by the masses to do more”, the Commissioner said.

GOVERNOR ADELEKE REASSURES MARKETERS, CITIZENS AFFECTED BY INCESSANT NATURAL DISASTER
The Executive Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has restated his commitment to the rehabilitation of some facilities, recently affected by the heavy rainstorm within Osogbo, the State Capital.
This was part of the statement made by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo, when he paid an unscheduled visit to the latest vandalisation in the Ayegbaju International Maket, Ogooluwa, Osogbo on Tuesday.
The Commissioner who was accompanied by the Management Team of the Ministry directed the Market Management to immediately find means to secure the facility, from further disaster.
The fence of the Ayegbaju International Market, during the latest attack on Monday, 13th April was badly affected by the rainstorm, exposing the market to reptiles, rodents and unguarded entrance of miscreants into the market premises.
Recall that the first natural disaster in the market was on 28th March 2026 when the rainstorm removed the roofing sheets, electrical poles, asbestos and other facilities within the market.
He therefore charged the Market Consultant, Mr. Segun Adeyemo to brace up, rise above unavoidable challenges and swing into actions on protecting the traders, market women and men from further harm that the natural disaster might have generated.
Dr. Jenyo emphasised that Governor Adeleke will not relent in his commitment to safeguard the interests of Osun citizens, and security of goods, services and sources of livelihood of the traders will not be taken for granted.
He promised that the State government facility will soon be rehabilitated to encourage commercial activities of the Ayegbaju International Market and Osun State as a whole.

COMMISSIONER, MASSES LAUD GOVERNOR ADELEKE AS IMOLE FREE TRAIN ARRIVES OSUN FOR EASTER CELEBRATION
The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo, joined with the masses have eulogized Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for the consistent provision of Imole Free Train Ride.
The Commissioner who attributed the success of Governor Adeleke’s initiatives and policies to his passion, kindness and service to the people, lauded him for his steadfastness in people’s welfare, despite paucity of funds.
He disclosed that Governor Adeleke placed priority on the welfare and happiness of the citizenry, working assiduously towards the progress and development of Osun State and her people.
Recall that the Imole Free Train Ride for the Easter celebration had arrived at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo from the Iddo Terminus, Lagos on Good Friday.
Passengers who alighted in their thousands expressed happiness and satisfaction for the initiative, describing it as an undeniable succour to the citizens with travelling needs, especially during festive periods.

According to the Commissioner, “kudos to His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for this lofty initiative, which is in the interest of the Osun people. Mr. Governor has done it again, he continues to put a smile on the faces of his people”.
“No doubt, the people who would have spent a lot of money for transportation, are conveyed from their varying locations to their home State, absolutely free of charge”.
The passengers also expressed their happiness and appreciation to the Governor for the initiative. They promised to support the Governor in his reelection bid, saying the good works must continue.
“The Governor, Ademola Adeleke is doing well. He is indeed a great leader with the potential to go higher to the National level, after his second term as Governor of Osun State. I, my household, friends and loved ones will continue to support him”, a passenger said.
Others prayed fervently for GOD’s strength and enablement to do greater exploits despite the antics and propaganda of the opposition. They also prayed for the continuity of Governor Ademola Adeleke till 2030.

ACCORD CHIEFTAIN, OLASUNKANMI DECLARES FOR OSUN CENTRAL SENATORIAL SEAT, BACKS GOV. ADELEKE
A former chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon.Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Osun Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Elections under the platform of Accord Party.
Olasunkanmi, who had earlier defected to Accord from PDP, over what he described as political realignment also, declared support for Governor Ademola Adeleke re-election bid.
The Osogbo-based grassroots political mobiliser made his intention known in a letter dated March 1, 2026, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of Accord, Ward 11 Baba Kekere, Osogbo Local Government, Osun state.
He said that his decision was driven by a passion for service, commitment to the progress of the people and development of the state.
He noted that he has been actively involved in community development and youth empowerment through the Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi Foundation, which has supported educational and humanitarian initiatives.
According to him, “I write with great respect and a deep sense of responsibility to formally declare my intention to contest for the office of Senate representing Osun Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections under the platform of the Accord Party.
“This decision is born out of my passion for service, commitment to the progress of our people, and a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Over the years, I have remained actively involved in community development and youth empowerment initiatives through the Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi Foundation, which has supported educational programs, youth development initiatives, and humanitarian outreach within our communities.
Olasunkanmi outlined his priorities to include youth empowerment, job creation, educational advancement, economic growth, support for small businesses, and community development. He also emphasized the need for transparent and accountable leadership.
“I strongly believe that the people of Osun Central deserve purposeful representation that prioritizes: Youth empowerment and job creation.
“Educational advancement and Scholarship opportunities, Economic growth and support for small businesses, Community development and infrastructure advocacy, Transparent and accountable leadership.
